Supervising and Supporting Debt Advisers
Description of the programme
The Supervising and Supporting Debt Advisors Programme is designed to be completed by all employees who supervise or support debt advisors as part of their role.
This course comprises of two days and at the end of the session, learners are expected to be able to:
- Explain the role and responsibilities of a Supervisor.
- Use analysis tools to assess what support is required.
- Describe the key skills necessary to deliver effective sessions.
- Identify what other factors you may need to take into consideration.
- Explain how to record session outcomes.
Learners are expected to complete a marked case study with a pass mark of 70% and an assessment with a pass mark of 80% to successfully complete the programme.
Pre Requisite Learning
Helpline Induction Programme or Assessment Induction Programme (both MaPs accredited). Dependant on department they are working in.

Staff who have completed the programme will receive a certificate of attendance to certify they have completed the Supervising and Supporting Debt Advisors Programme which has been accredited by the Money & Pensions Service Debt Advice Quality Framework.
Staff will also have the completion of the Programme logged onto their individual learning record in Cascade. This can be accessed by staff at any time.
